Wikify Your Website
A beginning step to wikify your website is to add the AboutUs widget to it. Not only does this give viewers quick information — a summary and topic tags — it is the start to engaging your audience by having dynamic information on your own site. This is because AboutUs is editable, which means you can easily keep the information up-to-date and visitors to your website can directly communicate with you by summarizing or tagging your website in a way you may not have thought of. You can be notified of these changes by email alerts, unlike if someone blogs or tweets about you.
Look at the bottom of any AboutUs page that describes a website. There, in the dark green area, you'll find a small box that reads, "Get a widget about this website." Just below that, you'll see a string of text you can copy and paste into your website. Now you have a link back to your site's AboutUs page, which you can easily edit to include anything you like — for example, contact information, interesting anecdotes and links back to any page on your website.
