There are several reasons a visit may not register with your counter:
* The visitor canceled the page load by clicking a link before it was finished loading, or closing the window, before your counter was loaded
* The visitor is on a slow connection and the request times out
* The visitor is behind a proxy (ex. AOL, MSN)
* The visitor's browser served the page from its cache or an ISP's cache instead of your server
* The visitor is using privacy software which blocks counters and trackers
* Your tracking software was unavailable at the time of the request, or can't handle concurrent connections

For the most accurate statistics, you shouldn't rely on a 3rd party counter. Your web server access logs are a good source of accurate hit counts. Most web hosts provide a log analyzer such as Awstats, Webalizer or Urchin. These are usually run once a day on the previous day's log files so are 24 hours behind our real-time counts.

Aaaah I see, now I know how my trackers have different result of count. Thanks for sharing.
I was wondering why all my traffic wasn't counted. Thanks for explaining why.
3rd party counter statistics are to be used as it is and for guide. anyway, we can't expect a lot from free service
I used to think that the Mybloglog system counted all of the visits but it falls way short.
Thats reasonable.. now i know why some visit did'nt counted
I always find it fascinating how some have such varied ideas of where web traffic is counted and why many of the newer systems don't equate the same. I usually compare results between sitemeter, google analytics, going up and feedjit. But I don't waste time complaining on why one system doesn't match with the other.
ya this is nice information. Now I understood that even though it seems that my site is visited by some traffic it is not reflected in others.
Hmmmm….
I think the one not counted for doesn't need to be worry about.
They don't give any harm.
indeed some counter traffic sometimes not accurate. The most good way is to compare some traffic recorder. thanks for sharing
Maybe that is why..thanks for sharing. ^_^
I have my own program which tracked all pages on all sites, it is very basic but gives me a general view and i also use 3 different 3rd party and yes they don't all give me the exact same results but there is no major differences.
