Homeless Update (Day 11) On the Street
It was tough for me and the wife to send our two youngest daughters back to NYC but it had to be done. the boys are still in school and seem to be dealing with our situation as well as can be expected.
We’ve exhausted all of our allotted days at the local motel paid for by the Metropolitan Ministries of Tampa. The counselor there was very gracious in helping us with the 4 days of somewhat clean sheets. Truly a blessing in disguise.
Today we applied for an apartment in Riverview. all seemed to be going well with the application. By Monday we should have an answer as to whether we are accepted or not. BTW the leasing agent there gave us a “double-thumbs” up. We’ll be praying for good news all weekend.
Another piece of news was my endocrinologist’s diagnosis of my recent blood work. She says that my thyroid and parathyroid levels are out of wack which may be affecting my metabolism from burning calories. In 6-8 weeks I will find out if I will be put on some sort of HRT or weight-loss regimen.
